Why are my teaching methods creative?
In addition to the books that are on the market, I create my own material to teach languages. I write sheets with jokes for example, on which I translate difficult words. And I create documents with funny words, proverbs, grammar explanations and grammar and translation exercises etc.
Furthermore, I cut out funny articles or memes from the newspaper as well as articles with good news or scientific inventions.
For lessons with children, I have a variety of memory games, songs, crosswords and other games, so that they can learn the language in a playful way.
I also transcribe short videos or radio programmes and translate difficult vocabulary, so that the learners are able to understand authentic broadcasts.
Moreover, I invent stories with some students, and we write a new episode in every lesson. Afterwards, I create a little document by typing up the stories and adding pictures and vocabulary.
What's the meaning of Lingualegra?
The name 'Lingualegra' is a combination of the Latin word 'lingua' for 'language' and the Rhaeto-Romanic word 'legra' for 'funny' - funny language :).
It's important to find a playful approach for learning a language. The grammar is often dry and complicated, that's why I like alternating it with jokes, funny words and jolly stories.
