Private Lessons

Lessons for Adults

There are different ways to learn a language. The best one is a combination of reading, listening, learning vocabulary and grammar, writing and speaking. But you can decide yourself what your focus is: Do you want to learn the basics of a simple conversation in every-day life? Do you need to write e-mails for work? Would you like to understand letters from the authorities and newspaper articles? Or do you need to prepare a language certificate, such as the 'Goethe Zertifikat', the TELC, DELF / DALF?

In the beginning, you tell me what you would like to learn. According to your main focus, I will recommend books and studying methods, combined with my own material. The advantage of private classes is the fact that you can tell me any time if you'd like to change the focus or to repeat a certain topic. I will always do my best to help you achieve your goals.

Tutoring

In tutoring lessons, I always ask what the pupil needs to learn for school. According to the learning objectives, I reply to questions, help with homework, explain and practice the grammar and vocabulary... If needed, we also practice the essay writing or prepare an oral exam. Moreover, I always do a bit of conversation in the foreign language, because at school, the children don't have many opportunities to speak the foreign language - the classes are usually large and there is a lot of grammar to study.

I ask my pupils to write down everything that I write on the board or in the Skype chat - vocabulary, grammar, short texts.... By writing down things, they remember them more easily and can repeat them any time.

I also help a lot of children to prepare the 'Gymiprüfung' ('Langzeitgymnasium' & 'Kurzzeitgymnasium', the admission exams to the BMS / FMS / HMS / IMS, the LAP ('Lehrabschlussprüfung'), the 'Matura' or BMS-'Matura'. And I support countless pupils who are in the probation period at the 'Gymnasium'. A lot of them need help especially in Latin and French.

Some parents schedule a few Latin lessons even before the start of the probation time, so that the start with Latin will be easier.
